About the Author
Entertainment has been a big part of Lily Collins’s life since her childhood. In 2009, Lily made her film debut in the Academy Award–nominated film The Blind Side, and in 2016, she was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in Warren Beatty’s Rules Don’t Apply. Lily has always strived to empower young people to use their voices, starting in high school, where she trained to be a teen therapist. I thoroughly enjoyed getting an inside look on Lily Collins and what has brought her to where she is today. I enjoyed her frank and upfront perspective on the good and bad times of her life thus far. I always enjoy learning about someone’s personal story and I admire her for being brave and sharing her innermost thoughts with her readers.A few of my favorite quotes from the book:‘Let’s proudly share our quirks. Be you and embrace your differences as things that make you unique and special. “Different†shouldn’t be considered confusing, negative, or something that divides us. It should be a quality we applaud and admire within ourselves and others.’‘I want to look as strong as I feel. And in order to do all of that, I need to live my life for every moment and be truly present, not worried about things that are out of my control or trying to control everything within my power.’‘I’m not getting any younger, and the sooner I accept my story for all that it is, and let go of the shame, regrets, and fear surrounding my experiences, the sooner I can just live, love, and be loved.’
Book is sooo good I couldn't put it down I finish the book in 1-2 hours. It's nice to get to know lily on a deeper level and connect, felt like I was catching up with for a cup coffee.
This was really mind opening and inspiring, I really appreciated and enjoyed all of it, every word and every chapter was so organic and real. I feel really connected to Lily as a person no this was a really great read. I feel more at peace with my body and more ambitious with my life. I feel excited.
I have always loved Lily Collins and how she's constantly trying to find a way to reassure all of the teens and young adults out there that they're not alone, that even celebrities struggle with the same things as they do. She's been quite the role model of mine and is so real and personal throughout the book. I also recommend the audiobook if you're more keen on having a friend chat with you instead because she does, in fact, make you feel very included.
