I used this for a college class, and buying it used through Amazon saved me a great deal of money! It was very well written and easy to follow.
Overall this book has been very useful in explaining C. My only real negative thing is the lengthy intro that it takes into explaining the history of computers. I would think that most people picking up this book have a pretty good idea of the early computing days or at least they probably wont bother with reading the history of it here. The book arrived in great condition and fairly quickly.
I was required to purchase this book for one of my classes. It is a 300 level course and I figured that we would go in greater depth about programming considering the prerequisites we needed to have. The book is extremely introductory as the title describes. Despite this, it is a great beginner book and would recommend it for people who are starting to program with C or need a brush up book in case you forget the basics.

this textbook was purchased for my child's college class. it was exactly what was needed for the class. it was in good condition.
I actually think the book itself is well written and a good learning tool. What I have a problem with however is the fact that after two weeks of light usage it, the book is already falling apart. I bought this book a month ago and only started using it two weeks ago when class started. Being a bibliophile, I am not particularly harsh to my books; especially ones that I could easily resell when I'm done with it. So far eight pages have come apart from the spine of the book and I'm sure many more will follow by the time I am done using the book. I really wish I had rented the book instead of buying it since it's too darn expensive to be falling apart so soon. Really disappointing since I need the book for class and I do like it.
